BJP Claims Discontent Behind Voter Turnout Drop in Kerala By-Polls
The BJP attributed the decline in voter turnout in Wayanad and Chelakkara by-polls to widespread dissatisfaction with ruling and opposition parties. The party highlighted the Christian community's inactivity due to the Waqf land dispute and criticized the Congress-led campaign as a failure, predicting BJP's victory in upcoming elections.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has attributed the reduced voter turnout in the Wayanad Lok Sabha and Chelakkara Assembly by-polls to mounting dissatisfaction among the electorate towards the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the opposition United Democratic Front (UDF).
BJP state president K Surendran emphasized that the diminished turnout is a reflection of widespread public discontent. He also pointed out the lack of participation from the traditionally UDF-supporting Christian community due to controversies surrounding the Waqf land dispute.
Surendran dismissed the campaign efforts of the UDF in Wayanad, notably Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's electoral push, as unsuccessful and indicative of a waning influence, even in their stronghold areas. Despite a significantly reduced voter turnout, BJP remains optimistic about its prospects in upcoming elections.
