In Rajasthan's Tonk district, Independent MLA candidate Naresh Meena was apprehended following a dramatic election day incident. Meena, a Congress dissident, was captured on camera assaulting SDM Malpura, Amit Chaudhary, by grabbing and slapping him.
The confrontation arose over a boycott by locals, demanding the inclusion of Samravta village in the Uniara sub-division, due to geographical proximity. President of the local community, Meena, had endorsed this cause.
The tense situation escalated rapidly, with incidents of vehicles being set ablaze, stones being hurled at police, and law enforcement detaining 60 individuals involved in the unrest.
