AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi expressed confidence on Thursday that his party's candidates will secure victories in both Aurangabad Central and East, and subsequently advocate for Maratha reservation in the state assembly. Owaisi emphasized that AIMIM's strategic plan includes contesting in 16 seats across the region.
Campaigning vigorously, Owaisi highlighted key issues affecting the residents of Aurangabad, such as inadequate access to drinking water, insufficient housing for impoverished populations, and persistently poor road and drainage infrastructure. He asserted that former MP Imtiaz Jaleel and candidate Naseer Siddiqui, contesting in Aurangabad East and Central respectively, will prioritize these challenges alongside pushing for Maratha reservation if elected.
Adding context to the political climate, Waris Pathan, AIMIM's candidate from Bhiwandi West, expressed disappointment over the missed opportunity to collaborate with the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, citing a lack of response despite their outreach. Meanwhile, the political race heats up across Maharashtra, with both the ruling Mahayuti and opposition MVA courting voters ahead of the November 20 assembly elections, with results to be tallied on November 23.
