In the lead-up to pivotal bypolls in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party's Rajpal Kashyap has railed against the BJP, accusing it of neglecting women's safety and alleging that the party prioritizes electoral victories over protecting women. His comments have sparked controversy, drawing attention to the party's stance on governance.
Addressing a rally in the Meerapur Assembly constituency, Kashyap cited past incidents, including the tragic case of two minor Dalit sisters who were raped and murdered in 2021, to underscore his claims of neglect under the BJP rule. A special court had convicted four individuals over the incident in 2023.
Kashyap further criticized Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's remarks labeling the Samajwadi Party as a 'production house of criminals,' branding such language as inappropriate for someone in his office. He attacked the BJP for failing to address issues such as inflation, unemployment, and public schemes.
