Campaigning for the crucial Rajasthan bypolls, covering seven assembly seats, concluded Monday evening. Both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress made final attempts to sway voters ahead of the electoral contest slated for Wednesday.
Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan highlighted that the mandatory 'silence period' has commenced, banning rallies and public meetings until after polls close. The rules also enforce restrictions on exit poll broadcasts to ensure fair conduct across several states.
Political tension escalated as Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Congress Chief Govind Singh Dotasra traded barbs over development concerns and governance failures in the region. With Congress defending four seats and BJP aiming to consolidate its presence, the stakes are high.
