Thane district authorities have announced an ambitious initiative designed to boost voter turnout in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. Dubbed an 'oath-taking' campaign, the event is scheduled for November 14, where nearly one crore residents across all 18 assembly constituencies in Thane will pledge to vote.
The initiative is part of the Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme and aims to emphasize voting as a national duty. District collector Ashok Shingare revealed in a release that the campaign involves collaboration with NGOs, educational institutions, and local agencies.
