Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for national unity to prevent societal division for vested interests. Speaking via video at the 200th anniversary of Shree Swaminarayan Temple in Gujarat, Modi underscored the importance of unity and integrity for India's development goals by 2047.
He highlighted attempts by some to divide the nation along caste, religion, and gender lines, urging citizens to understand these divisive intentions and unite against them. Modi requested the Swaminarayan sect's saints to encourage citizens to join in fostering national unity.
During his address, the Prime Minister also acknowledged a commemorative coin by the Government of India, celebrating the temple's bicentennial, as a tribute to Lord Swaminarayan's historical impact on India.
