The Maharashtra Congress made a decisive move on Sunday by suspending 28 rebel candidates for six years, citing anti-party activities.
The candidates are contesting from 22 assembly constituencies against the official nominees of the Maha Vikas Aghadi for the November 20 elections.
The suspended individuals include prominent figures like former minister Rajendra Mulak from the Ramtek constituency, Yagnyavalk Jichkar from Katol, Kamal Vyawhare from Kasba, Manoj Shinde from Kopri Pachpakhadi, and Aaba Bagul from Parvati. This action follows directives from AICC in-charge Ramesh Chennithala, as per an official Congress statement.
