BS Yediyurappa, former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP stalwart, openly endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's allegations regarding the Congress party's financial misconduct. Speaking to ANI, Yediyurappa claimed the Congress 'looted' funds from liquor vendors in Karnataka to finance Maharashtra's assembly elections.
The Prime Minister recently accused the Congress-led Karnataka government of embezzling Rs 700 crore from the state's liquor sellers. During a rally in Maharashtra's Akola, Modi suggested that states governed by Congress serve as 'ATMs' for the party's elite. He warned of further misappropriation if Congress wins the elections.
The Maharashtra Assembly elections are approaching, with polling on November 20 and results the following day. Historically, the BJP secured robust performances in 2014 and 2019, winning 122 and 105 seats, respectively, while Congress lagged behind. Modi warned voters to stay vigilant against Congress's divisive strategies.
