Congress has launched a fresh attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Jharkhand, raising questions about unfulfilled promises. The party is particularly focused on the denial of religious identity for Adivasis and the lack of enactment of the Sarna code.
Jairam Ramesh, Congress general secretary for communications, criticized Modi for not answering pressing local issues. He pointed to the stalled railway projects like the Korba-Lohardaga and Chatra-Gaya lines. Despite demands for better rail connectivity to improve education and employment, progress has been negligible.
Ramesh further questioned Modi's inability to deliver promised educational projects from 2014. He highlighted that only two institutions were established without permanent campuses, in contrast to developments under former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh. The Congress is also pressing for religious identity recognition for Jharkhand's tribal communities.
