The image included Nazi symbolism, drawing condemnation from various quarters. The Bundesliga club St Pauli, based in Hamburg, known for its alternative fan scene and community projects, is contemplating legal action.
In response to the backlash, Buyukbayram, who belongs to the Christian Democrats, offered an apology, labeling his actions as a 'mistake'. Despite his apology, legal proceedings may still follow.
