In a fiery statement, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of demonstrating blatant favoritism towards Gujarat, his home state. According to Siddaramaiah, major investments have been redirected from technologically advanced states such as Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana to Gujarat, supported by exclusive subsidies and incentives.
He voiced his concerns on 'X', pointing out this unfair treatment and urging for equitable opportunities for all southern states. The chief minister specifically targeted Karnataka's BJP MPs, critiquing their inaction and silent compliance in the face of what he describes as 'helicopter diplomacy' that neglects Karnataka's interests.
Siddaramaiah stressed that their silence constitutes a betrayal to the state's tech and manufacturing ecosystem. He called for a chorus of voices to rise in defense of Karnataka, to demand equal treatment, and to ensure that investments favor all regions uniformly, not just Gujarat.
