MCC Members Embrace Investment in The Hundred's London Spirit
The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) members have voted to accept a 51% share in the London Spirit franchise of The Hundred competition. The decision was made at a special general meeting, allowing MCC to have a say in potential investment partners. The England and Wales Cricket Board is also looking to sell stakes in its franchises.
The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) has voted in favor of acquiring a 51% share in the London Spirit franchise of The Hundred, a professional cricket competition.
More than 4,800 members supported the resolution, showcasing strong interest during a special general meeting held at Lord's, the MCC's home ground.
The decision allows the MCC to exercise a veto over investment partners if needed, and the club's involvement in the franchise will be managed by a steering group. The ECB is preparing to sell stakes in its eight franchises due to heightened investor interest.
