In a rare bipartisan moment, Mahayuti NCP candidates, Sana Malik and Nawab Malik, have commended the Maharashtra government's Ladki Bahin Yojana, highlighting its potential to sway the forthcoming state elections in favor of Mahayuti. Speaking with ANI, Anushakti Nagar candidate Sana Malik, daughter of Nawab Malik, noted the initial skepticism among women regarding the scheme but described a surge of happiness once beneficiaries started receiving funds.
Since mid-August, there has been a noticeable buzz and discourse among female beneficiaries regarding Chief Minister's pledge to amplify benefits upon re-election, with speculations of an increment up to Rs 2000. Malik shared that the financial aid significantly assists women, particularly in slum areas, by covering essential expenses like school fees and utility bills, creating a ripple of satisfaction across diverse communities.
Meanwhile, NCP leader Nawab Malik expressed that the scheme visibly empowered women, evidenced by increased Diwali shopping activity in local markets. The government's Ladki Bahin Yojana, targeting economically vulnerable women with Rs 1500 support, is part of their strategic outreach. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde remarked that the scheme's success has unsettled the opposition, reaffirming his intent to continue disbursing the funds proactively, even before elections, scheduled on November 20, with results due on November 23.
