Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, addressing a gathering at the Diva Festival in Thane, celebrated the 'Ladki Bahin' scheme, describing the recognition from women in the state as the greatest honor. The initiative, targeting financial support to women, has played a crucial role in the electoral victory of the BJP-led coalition during the 2024 polls.
The Mahayuti coalition, comprising BJP, Shinde's Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar's NCP, won a landslide victory, leading to Devendra Fadnavis's appointment as chief minister, with Shinde and Pawar as deputies. Shinde praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his commitment to Maharashtra's growth and acknowledged continuous assistance for the state's development initiatives.
Emphasizing growth and development, Shinde expressed gratitude towards Fadnavis for his support during his tenure as chief minister. He also unveiled plans to transform Diva town in Thane district, aiming to enhance its infrastructure with housing facilities, metro connectivity, and other civic amenities.
