The Congress party has strongly criticized the Election Commission after it dismissed allegations of irregularities during the recent Haryana assembly elections. The Congress claims that the Commission is compromising its neutrality, a charge it describes as being both apparent and damaging to democratic processes.
The Election Commission's response was described as condescending by the opposition party, which warned it may pursue legal avenues if the tone of such replies persists. The Congress, led by leaders including Jairam Ramesh, argues that disregarding the party's concerns is a failure in the Commission's constitutional duty.
Amid allegations of bias, the Congress reiterates its demand for a fair hearing and warns that the Commission's refusal could lead to legal challenges, echoing a similar stance it took in 2019. Despite these tensions, the BJP maintained political dominance in Haryana, clinching 48 out of 90 assembly seats.
