South Korea's National Security Council has confirmed that North Korea has again breached U.N. Security Council resolutions by launching an intercontinental ballistic missile.
In response, the council has agreed to implement new sanctions against North Korea and plans to collaborate closely with international allies and the United Nations to ensure stricter enforcement of existing sanctions. This was disclosed in a statement from the office of President Yoon Suk Yeol.
Additionally, President Yoon has directed a robust response strategy and comprehensive planning to thwart any potential surprise aggression from North Korea.
