The Chinese Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, expressed optimism about the future of Indo-China relations following the completion of border disengagement in Eastern Ladakh. Speaking at a session by the Merchant Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Xu highlighted the significance of recent talks between Indian PM Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping during the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia.

In response to questions about border patrolling in the Depsang and Demchok regions, Xu noted that Modi and Xi reached crucial understandings, outlining guidelines for enhanced relations. The diplomat emphasized that smooth interactions should not be hindered by disagreements, advocating for handling differences effectively to ensure steady bilateral progress.

The ambassador also mentioned the resumption of direct flights between China and India, underscoring Indo-China commercial cooperation. With China as India's largest trading partner, Xu Feihong sees opportunities for deeper ties as trade levels surpass USD 100 billion, benefiting both nations and the wider Asian region.
