YS Vijayamma, the mother of prominent political figures YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and YS Sharmila, publicly addressed a divisive issue within the family concerning an asset division agreement, signed by her children in 2019. Her statement on Tuesday was a surprising turn in the ongoing family saga.

The issue came to light after Jagan, YSRCP chief, filed a petition with the National Company Law Tribunal, accusing Sharmila of improperly transferring shares from a family-held enterprise. Vijayamma's intervention is aimed at clarifying misconceptions and affirming that the asset distribution is a rightful claim of Sharmila's.

Condemning misleading narratives circulated by YSRCP figures, Vijayamma emphasized the importance of 'blood' ties and urged for peace between her children. Recalling her late husband's intentions, she affirmed that Jagan was responsible for honoring the MoU by equitably dividing family assets among his and Sharmila's children.
