The NISHAD Party, under the presidency of Dr. Sanjay Nishad, has opted not to field candidates in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh by-elections, placing emphasis on ensuring the collective victory of BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) allies. This decision comes after BJP allocated only one seat to another ally, RLD, while fielding candidates for the remaining seats.
Despite staking claims on two seats prior, the NISHAD Party focuses on cooperation within the alliance. During a state core committee meeting, Nishad emphasized prioritizing electoral victory over merely acquiring seats. The party previously contested on its symbol in the 2022 UP assembly elections, with mixed results in Majhawa and Kathari.
The pressing need for by-elections arose when NISHAD's MLA from Majhawan became an MP, triggering vacancies. Voting is scheduled for November 13, with results to be announced on November 23. The NISHAD Party expresses confidence in the enduring strength of their alliance with BJP, promising a united front against opposition.
