Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan launched a sharp critique against both the BJP and the Congress-led UDF on Friday. He accused them of misrepresenting Malappuram district, alleging that the Sangh Parivar is perpetuating a harmful narrative supported by the Congress.
Vijayan recently faced criticism for his comments associating gold smuggling with 'anti-national activities' in Malappuram. He emphasized that crimes should be considered as such, without attributing them to any particular community.
During the inauguration of the by-election convention for CPI(M)-led LDF candidate U R Pradeep, Vijayan accused the BJP and RSS of attempting to instigate communal division, with Congress backing this rhetoric. He recalled Congress's historical opposition to the formation of Malappuram district, underscoring the LDF's decision in 1969 to promote development in the area.
