Maharashtra Elections: Key Leaders File Nominations Ahead of Critical Vote

Several high-profile politicians, including Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and state NCP(SP) chief Jayant Patil, have filed their nominations ahead of the November 20 Maharashtra assembly elections.
The nomination process, which commenced on October 22, has already seen 153 candidates across the state formally entering the race. The deadline for filing nominations is set for October 29.
Among the ruling alliance's candidates, NCP ministers Dilip Walse Patil and Chhagan Bhujbal submitted their papers for Ambegaon and Yeola, respectively. BJP minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha is contesting from Mumbai's Malabar Hill, while Aaditya Thackeray seeks re-election from his current constituency, Worli.
New entrant Rohit Patil, son of late NCP leader R R Patil, is making his debut from Tasgaon-Kavthemahankal. Former minister Jayant Patil filed from Islampur, and Harshvardhan Patil, a recent addition to the NCP (SP), entered the race for Indapur.
