Omar Abdullah, the freshly appointed Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, held discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah concerning the Union Territory's issues, primarily focusing on the restoration of statehood.
During his inaugural trip to the national capital after assuming office, Abdullah spent about 30 minutes with the Home Minister, labeling it a courtesy call. He used this opportunity to brief Shah on the current situation and pressed on the statehood topic.
Abdullah's Delhi visit follows a tragic terror assault in Ganderbal, resulting in the death of seven individuals, including a doctor. In Delhi, Abdullah is also set to meet with central leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reinforcing his Party's commitment to reclaim statehood, as supported by Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha.
