In a provocative statement, Union minister Giriraj Singh sparked controversy by urging people to stockpile weapons like spears, swords, and tridents, claiming these could be used in both worship and self-defense. His comments came during his 'Hindu Swabhiman Yatra' in Kishanganj, a Muslim-majority district.

Singh alleged that Hindus are under threat and need to be organized, citing unverified concerns over the safety of Hindu women and the influence of 'love jihad.' He claimed no legal action is taken against alleged culprits of religious conversion through marriage.

The minister also suggested that in Muslim-majority areas, Hindu religious practices are under threat, and Christian missionaries are targeting Hindus. He blamed historical political decisions for current tensions and called for unity among Hindus.
