Congress Condemns Ganderbal Attack, Demands Action

At a meeting chaired by working president Raman Bhalla, the Congress urged the government to implement stringent measures to combat terrorism and ensure civilian safety.

In response to the tragic event, party leaders observed a two-minute silence to honor the victims and conveyed their sympathies to the bereaved families. They demanded that the government provide ex-gratia relief and employment to the next of kin of one of the victims, Shashi Abrol.

Reflecting on its political journey, the Congress meeting also covered the party's recent electoral performance, emphasizing their strong presence in Kashmir despite challenges faced in Jammu. A fact-finding committee was tasked with identifying reasons for the party's setbacks in certain areas, advocating introspection for future improvement.
