In a bid to resolve intra-party tensions, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma met with BJP dissident leader Narendra Kumar Meena on Monday. The meeting followed Meena's public display of discontent over not being allocated a ticket for the upcoming bypolls.
Meena, who hails from the Salumbar constituency, expressed his frustration after Shanta Devi Meena was named the BJP candidate. The party declared nominees for six out of seven seats scheduled for elections on November 13.
In a strategic move, the chief minister invited Meena to Jaipur for a discussion, flying him from Udaipur by special plane. The chief minister was accompanied by BJP MLAs Nimbahera Shrichand Kriplani and Udaylal Dangi during the talks.
