On Monday, in preparation for the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand, several candidates filed their nomination papers. Among them was Mithilesh Kumar Thakur, who is set to contest from Garhwa as a Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidate.

Another highlight of the day was the filing of nomination papers by two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates, Kushwaha Shashi Bhushan Mehta and Bhanu Pratap Shahi, who will contest from Panki and Bhawanathpur respectively.

The elections, covering 81 seats, are scheduled to be held in two phases on November 13 and 20, with results to be announced on November 23. Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed confidence in the joint efforts of the INDIA bloc.
