The BJP has announced its initial list for the Maharashtra assembly elections, renominating three sitting MLAs from Pune—Madhuri Misal, Chandrakant Patil, and Siddharth Shirole—from the constituencies of Parvati, Kothrud, and Shivajinagar, respectively. This reflects the party's strategy to bank on familiar faces.
Siddharth Shirole expressed gratitude toward the party leadership, asserting confidence in securing victory and reinforcing efforts to serve the community more diligently.
In Pimpri-Chinchwad, the BJP continues its support for Mahesh Landge at Bhosari and has appointed Shankar Jagtap for the Chinchwad seat. Jagtap, aligned closely with current MLA Ashwini Jagtap, marks a continuation of strategic family ties within the party's candidate selections.
Moreover, the BJP's list includes 13 women candidates and retains 71 of its sitting MLAs while integrating new kin from influential political backgrounds, like Ashok Chavan's daughter. Notables such as Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and ministers Girish Mahajan and Sudhir Mungantiwar are featured prominently.
