In a heated political exchange, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has accused Delhi's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of failing to address the widespread pollution plaguing the Yamuna River. Saini criticized Delhi for not taking responsibility for the 28 drains of contaminated water flowing into the river.

Saini questioned the AAP's handling of funds allocated under the Yamuna Action Plan, emphasizing that Delhi should account for the Rs 6,000 crores granted by the central government, including Rs 3,000 crores received in the last two years. He implied that the AAP government was more focused on political infighting than solving environmental issues.

In response, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of playing 'dirty politics,' which she claims exacerbates both air and water pollution in the city. Atishi argued that pollution levels have spiked, primarily due to factors such as stubble burning in BJP-ruled states and inadequate infrastructure outside Delhi.
