As the Indian capital struggles with escalating pollution, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has launched a vehement critique against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She accuses the BJP of engaging in 'dirty politics' that, she asserts, has exacerbated both air and water pollution in the city. Promising intervention, she emphasized that, under the stewardship of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal, her government is tackling the issue aggressively.

Highlighting the surge in air pollution and the deteriorating condition of the Yamuna River, evidenced by toxic foam formations, Atishi squarely attributes the blame to political adversaries. At a press conference, she pointed out that although AAP-led Punjab has cut stubble burning by half, BJP-ruled Haryana and Uttar Pradesh have seen increased incidents, rising by 23% and 70% respectively. She questioned why these states have failed to implement similar measures and criticized their reliance on diesel-powered buses instead of introducing electric alternatives.

Further condemning BJP officials for turning pollution sites into photo ops, CM Atishi identified industrial waste from Haryana and polluted water release from Uttar Pradesh as culprits for the toxic foam in the Yamuna River, vowing to continue remediation efforts. AAP leader Satyendar Jain accused the BJP of crippling their Yamuna cleanup project by arresting AAP leaders. Jain insisted their progress threatened the BJP, prompting the crackdown.
