The Bharatiya Janata Party's Jharkhand president, Babulal Marandi, launched a scathing attack against the state's ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, accusing them of rampant resource plundering over the last five years. Marandi alleged that the JMM had stripped the state of its resources, targeting sand, coal, and land belonging to Adivasis and the army.
With elections declared, Marandi asserted that the BJP is poised to intensify campaign efforts, confident of forming the next government. 'The level of corruption is such that government offices have become synonymous with extortion,' he noted, emphasizing public eagerness for change as election day approaches.
The BJP will contest the Jharkhand assembly elections in alliance with AJSU, JD-U, and LJP, fielding candidates across several constituencies. Hemant Soren, representing the JMM-led INDIA bloc, announced a coalition with Congress, set to compete in the majority of seats, as discussions continue with RJD and Left parties.
