CEC Vows to Curb Political Violence Post-Siddique's Death

In the aftermath of NCP leader Baba Siddique's murder in Mumbai, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has assured that the Election Commission will take a stringent stance to avert violence against political figures, particularly as the Model Code of Conduct is now active in Maharashtra.
Addressing concerns in the wake of Siddique's assassination, Kumar emphasized that the commission will instruct police in the concerned state to treat such politically motivated crimes as completely unacceptable.
The CEC stressed that with the MCC now implemented, they will be vigilant in preventing any kind of political violence, ensuring that incidents like Siddique's killing do not repeat, especially with elections looming.
