Ajit Pawar, president of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Deputy Chief Minister, announced that the NCP will allocate 10% of its seats to minority candidates in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections.
The announcement follows the Mahayuti coalition's recent poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections, where the NCP lost three of the four constituencies it contested.
Addressing the Jan Sanman Yatra, Pawar also promised financial assistance of Rs 3,000 to women beneficiaries of the 'Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana' scheme for the months of October and November, ahead of the model code of conduct implementation.
