Union Minister Ramdas Athawale applauded the Maharashtra cabinet's decision to increase pay for Madarsa teachers, describing the move as a testament to the Mahayuti government's inclusive approach towards all religions. This increment aims to uplift educators, with salaries for certain teachers doubling.

The state cabinet has also made a proposal to the central government to raise the income threshold for the 'non-creamy layer' classification to Rs 15 lakh, up from the current Rs 8 lakh. This adjustment could expand reservation benefits for families in the OBC category.

Amid these developments, Athawale discussed political strategy regarding the upcoming state assembly elections. As the chief of RPI (A) and an ally in the Mahayuti coalition, he emphasized the party's demands for a share of seats and its readiness to contest under its own symbol.
