In a significant moment of national mourning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended his deep condolences to Noel Tata, lamenting the demise of revered industrialist Ratan Tata. The Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, Ratan Tata passed away at the age of 86 in Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital on Wednesday.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to attend Tata's final rites, representing the Indian government. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced the funeral would be conducted with full state honours. Tata's body will be displayed at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday to allow the public to pay their respects.

Extensive preparations are underway at NCPA, Nariman Point, where the public will be able to bid farewell before the last rituals. Prime Minister Modi expressed profound grief via social media, emphasizing Tata's pioneering leadership and humanitarian contributions beyond the corporate realm.

"Ratan Tata Ji was a visionary business leader and a compassionate soul," remarked PM Modi, highlighting his stable leadership and social benevolence. Modi's messages underscored Tata's humility, kindness, and commitment to societal betterment.

Ratan Tata's philanthropic efforts in education, healthcare, and animal welfare were particularly remembered by PM Modi. Reflecting on personal engagements with Tata, Modi praised his enriching perspectives and mourned his departure.

A titan of Indian industry, Ratan Tata was honored with the Padma Vibhushan in 2008. His leadership took the Tata Group to unparalleled heights, weaving through its fabric a thread of social upliftment across diverse areas, further entrenching his legacy.
