In the wake of a disappointing performance in the Haryana assembly elections, Congress's Capt Ajay Singh Yadav urged the party to review its strategies, particularly in Southern Haryana, where it secured only a single seat. Yadav highlighted the lack of representation for the Ahirwal community within key party committees.
Describing Congress President Rahul Gandhi's efforts as insufficient, Yadav pointed out the absence of Ahirwal figures in bodies like the CWC and HPCC. Southern Haryana, often termed Ahirwal, includes Gurgaon, Rewari, and Mahendergarh, regions where the Congress fared poorly against the BJP's dominant show.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Priyank Kharge expressed confidence in the party's future successes but acknowledged the need for introspection following Haryana's results. Party heads Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi are set to deliberate on corrective measures, aiming for a stronger showing in impending elections in Jharkhand and Maharashtra.
