In the aftermath of the Jammu and Kashmir elections, BJP unit chief Ravinder Raina emphasized the party's commitment to acting as a strong opposition. He expressed hope that the National Conference-led government would aggressively address terrorism and separatism, fostering peace and unity in the region.

Raina acknowledged the role of BJP-backed Independent candidates underperforming, leading to the National Conference-Congress coalition achieving a majority. However, he celebrated BJP's historic win of 29 assembly seats and significant vote share, crediting Prime Minister Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and party president J P Nadda for the achievement.

Despite losing his seat in Nowshera, Raina underscored BJP's aim to secure 35 seats and indicated plans to collaborate with Independents and other groups. He urged the new government to preserve the peace established under Modi's leadership and to address public grievances while fostering development in Jammu and Kashmir.
