The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) celebrated a significant political victory as its candidate, Mehraj Malik, emerged victorious in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda Assembly seat. Malik, a member of the District Development Council, secured 23,228 votes, outpacing BJP's Gajay Singh Rana, who garnered 18,690 votes.
In recognition of this achievement, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal congratulated Malik through a video call, expressing his appreciation for the electoral success. Kejriwal accepted an invitation to attend a program in Doda on October 10, highlighting the party's expanding footprint in the region.
This victory marks AAP's entry into a fifth Indian state assembly. Despite setbacks in other regional elections, the party continues to build momentum under Kejriwal's leadership, aiming for further growth in Jammu and Kashmir following their historic win.
