In a landmark political development, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claimed a legislative assembly victory in Jammu and Kashmir, marking its entry into a fifth Indian state. Candidate Mehraj Malik emerged victorious in the Doda constituency.
Mehraj Malik, a District Development Council member representing AAP, secured 23,228 votes, surpassing BJP's candidate Gajay Singh Rana, who received 18,690 votes. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal praised Malik's triumph, expressing his felicitation in a social media statement.
While celebrating at the party's headquarters, leaders and supporters reflected on AAP's growing influence, underscored by this victory, which resonates as Kejriwal's vision spreading across Jammu and Kashmir.
