Sakina Masood Secures Commanding Victory in Critical Jammu and Kashmir Seat
Sakina Masood, a leader from the National Conference and former minister, won the assembly election from the D H Pora seat in Jammu and Kashmir. She triumphed over her PDP rival, Gulzar Ahmad Dar, with a significant margin of over 17,000 votes. This marks her third win from this redrawn constituency.

On Tuesday, National Conference leader and former minister Sakina Masood clinched victory in the assembly election for the D H Pora seat in Jammu and Kashmir. She emerged victorious by defeating her PDP contender Gulzar Ahmad Dar with a substantial margin of over 17,000 votes.
Masood, also known as Sakina Itto, garnered a total of 36,623 votes, which exceeded Dar's count of 19,174 by 17,449 votes. Her win solidifies her stronghold in the region.
This latest victory marks her third electoral success from the constituency, previously recognized as Noorabad before being renamed following the delimitation exercise. Her earlier victories were in 1996 and 2008.
