The National Conference-Congress alliance is poised to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir, as poll trends Tuesday indicated their lead in 51 out of 90 assembly seats. In contrast, the BJP is leading in only 28 seats, according to the latest data from the Election Commission.

Vice President Omar Abdullah of the National Conference stressed the need for transparency, urging respect for the people's mandate in this pivotal election. He stated that attempts at manipulation, especially by the BJP, will not be tolerated. Abdullah said, 'The Raj Bhavan and the Centre should accept the decision of the people.'

In Budgam and Ganderbal, Abdullah is leading significantly, further solidifying NC's position. Meanwhile, Nazir Ahmad Khan secured a win in the Gurez segment for the fourth time, while BJP's Darshan Kumar and NC's Salman Sagar had notable victories elsewhere. Counting continues at 28 centers across the region.
