Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav on Wednesday launched the 'Women's Shakti Abhiyan', a new initiative aimed at empowering women by training them for leadership roles, the party announced in a statement.

Yadav also revealed a phone number that women can use to give a missed call and join the movement.

The initiative is part of the Indira Fellowship Programme, designed to train women in politics and governance in memory of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi initially launched the drive on October 14 last year, and it has since gained significant traction among women.

Yadav emphasized the Congress party's ongoing commitment to ensuring greater female participation in politics and decision-making processes. He also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversary.
