Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has called on the Opposition to respect Mahatma Gandhi's long-held wish for the dissolution of the Congress party, stating that it has outlived its purpose.
Fadnavis, a senior BJP leader, accused the Opposition of exploiting Gandhi's name for selfish political agendas. He made these comments in response to a reporter's question about a march organized by NCP (SP) to commemorate Gandhi's 155th birth anniversary.
Fadnavis argued that if the Opposition truly follows Gandhian principles, they should heed Gandhi's desire to dissolve the Congress after India gained Independence.
