Upcoming Sinlung Hills Council Elections Announced
The schedule for the Sinlung Hills Council elections in Mizoram will be announced on October 3, as per State Election Commissioner H Lalthlangliana. The SHC has 12 constituencies and covers 31 villages. There are 23,789 voters, with women slightly outnumbering men. A ZPM-HPC seat-sharing arrangement has been agreed upon for the polls.

The schedule for the Sinlung Hills Council (SHC) elections in Mizoram will be revealed on October 3, according to State Election Commissioner H Lalthlangliana.
Lalthlangliana's announcement followed the publication of the SHC's final electoral rolls, which show 23,789 voters, including 11,914 women who slightly outnumber male voters.
The SHC encompasses 12 constituencies with 31 villages in the Hmar-dominated northeastern Mizoram and is currently governed by a ZPM-HPC alliance, having undergone significant power shifts in the last five years.
