VHP Leader Virendra Parmar Cremated Amid Grief and Demonstrations
VHP leader Virendra Parmar passed away due to cardiac arrest during a procession-cum-rally by the Devbhoomi Sangharsh Samiti. He was cremated on Sunday with his son Kshitiz lighting the pyre. Demonstrations were held across Himachal Pradesh for various demands, and police have registered cases against some individuals for inflammatory speeches.

VHP leader Virendra Parmar, who died of a cardiac arrest while participating in a Devbhoomi Sangharsh Samiti rally, was cremated on Sunday. His only son, Kshitiz, a ninth-grader, lit the funeral pyre as hundreds of locals and activists from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and other organizations wept.
Among the attendees at the crematorium were Vijay Agnihotri and former BJP MLA from Nadaun, Pankaj Bharti, as well as the VHP state assistant secretary.
Demonstrations erupted in various Himachal Pradesh districts following a call from the Devbhoomi Sangharsh Samiti, which has been advocating for the demolition of a mosque in Sanjauli and the verification of migrants. Meanwhile, Hamirpur Police have filed cases against several individuals, including Pankaj Bharti, for allegedly delivering inflammatory speeches and inciting religious sentiments.
