The Mumbai Police have taken a significant step in tackling the alleged black marketing of Coldplay concert tickets by recording the statement of Anil Makhija, Chief Operating Officer of BookMyShow. The statement was recorded on Monday after the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) summoned Makhija in connection with the case.
Notably, the Economic Offences Wing had also called upon BookMyShow's CEO, Ashish Hemrajani, last Saturday to provide clarification on the issue. However, Hemrajani did not appear before the officials, raising further questions regarding the alleged ticketing scam.
The controversy surrounds the highly-anticipated shows scheduled for January 18, 19, and 21, 2025, at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, part of Coldplay's 'Music of the Spheres World Tour.' The limited availability of tickets has led to widespread concern among fans about possible black marketing on the online platform.
