On Monday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects totaling Rs 123 crore in Jehanabad district. Among the projects are a panchayat bhavan in Kalpa village, a new SC/ST-cum-women's police station, and additional barracks for women constables.
The statement from the Chief Minister's Office outlined the scope of the projects, which also include additional buildings for the district police. However, the event stirred controversy as opposition leaders, including local MLAs Kumar Krishna Mohan and Ram Bali Singh Yadav, alleged they were barred from attending.
RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwary condemned the exclusion, calling it undemocratic and indicative of the Chief Minister's attempt to obscure activities from the opposition. This incident mirrors past accusations, adding to the political tensions in the region.
