In a fresh turn of events, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal announced his imminent resignation, stating he will step down from his position in the next two days. Kejriwal conveyed that he will not assume the role of Chief Minister again unless he receives a vote of confidence from the people of Delhi, marking it as a certificate of his integrity.

Reacting to Kejriwal's announcement, CPI leader D Raja emphasized that the decision is an independent one made by Kejriwal and his party. Raja noted that the union government has been using central agencies such as ED and CBI to target opposition parties, a point Kejriwal and other INDIA bloc members have been vocal about. He highlighted that AAP has the prerogative to make its political decisions.

Addressing party workers at the AAP office, Kejriwal reiterated his resolve to resign, promising to go door-to-door to seek public support. He declared that he will not return to the Chief Minister's office unless he receives a clear mandate from the electorate. Kejriwal was recently released on bail from Tihar Jail in connection with a corruption case involving the Delhi Excise Policy. (ANI)
