Controversy Surrounds BJP MLA Munirathna Amid Harassment and Threat Allegations

BJP legislator Munirathna has been apprehended in connection with allegations of harassment, threats, and casteist abuse. Two cases have been lodged against him, leading to his detention in Kolar and subsequent formal arrest in Bengaluru, according to senior police officials.

Advocate Sadananda, defending Munirathna, dismissed the allegations as baseless and vowed to challenge the charges in high court. In response, the state BJP issued a showcause notice, demanding Munirathna clarify the situation within five days.

Union minister Prahlad Joshi and Opposition Leader R Ashoka criticized the arrest as politically motivated, while Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah condemned the MLA's alleged actions as severe crimes, urging the BJP to take decisive action.
