Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing his first rally for the upcoming assembly elections, asserted that these polls will determine Jammu and Kashmir's future governance. He accused major political parties in the state of practicing 'pariwarwad' or nepotism. Modi also declared that terrorism in the region is in its final stages and that significant positive changes have occurred over the last decade.

'The stones that were once used for pelting are now being used to build a new Jammu and Kashmir,' Modi stated. He lamented that nepotism has prevented the youth from leading and emphasized his administration's efforts to promote new leadership in the region.

'Since independence, foreign powers have targeted our beloved J-K. Following this, 'pariwarwad' started hollowing out this beautiful state,' Modi said, criticizing political parties for promoting their families over the region's welfare. He praised the successful implementation of panchayat, BDC, and DDC elections, noting that these steps were crucial for bringing democracy to the grassroots level.

Modi referred to former Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde's remarks about feeling fear in Lal Chowk, highlighting the past troubled times. 'There was a time when an undeclared curfew prevailed after evening, making even the Union Home Minister apprehensive about visiting Lal Chowk,' he said.

Focusing on education, Modi expressed his desire for every child in Jammu and Kashmir to access quality schooling, noting the inauguration of several schools and colleges and the fulfillment of the demand for a medical college in Doda by the BJP government.

'Ensure a huge mandate for our candidates to secure a brighter future for everyone in the valley,' Modi urged. He assured that the BJP government prioritizes the rights and well-being of all Jammu and Kashmir residents, regardless of religion, region, or cultural affiliation. Modi concluded by guaranteeing that only a BJP-led administration can reinforce statehood in Jammu and Kashmir. The assembly elections are set for September 18, 25, and October 1, with votes to be counted on October 8.
